Scott Kimzey accepted to prestigious Leadership Kansas
Kansas City, MO (March 21, 2019) – Leadership Kansas recently accepted Scott Kimzey, a director on the McCownGordon Construction estimating team, to its Class of 2019 program. The Leadership Kansas Board of Trustees selected 40 nominees based on their level of responsibility, potential for continual leadership in Kansas, and evidence of professional and personal improvement since completing their formal education.

Scott has more than 20 years’ experience in the construction industry. His depth of estimating experience gives him the knowledge needed to develop creative cost-saving solutions which help project owners achieve their goals. Over his career, Scott has worked on projects in a wide variety of market sectors including manufacturing and industrial, science and technology, corporate office, civic and higher education including such significant higher education projects as Kansas University Central District (P3), Kansas State University Engineering Hall and the Kansas State University Central Utility Plant. Scott acts as a leader in the preconstruction process for McCownGordon, working closely with trade partners, design teams and owners to deliver comprehensive preconstruction services. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in construction science and management from Kansas State University.
At McCownGordon, Scott serves as a guide and mentor for all company associates, both in preconstruction services as well as other areas. In joining Leadership Kansas, Scott serves as a member of one of the most revered leadership programs in the country. He expanded his leadership skills through participating in and playing a pivotal role in numerous organizations, including Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Lawrence and serving as an Appeals Member on the City of Lawrence Board of Zoning. Upon completion of the Leadership Kansas program, Scott is prepared to shoulder more responsibilities armed with resources from a vast network of business and public sector contacts across the state.
