Project Case Study
The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures chose McCownGordon to renovate their home on UMKC’s campus in collaboration with Helix Architecture. The original mansion built in 1911, which received a major addition in 1988 and another addition in 2002, required an extensive renovation.

Father and daughter walking around the toy museum, upgraded by McCownGordon

The upgrades to the museum included improvements to the reception/lobby area, exhibit spaces, small catering room, conference area, collections storage, retail store, office and storage areas.

New display cases with a glass pivot door system allow the museum to maximize the space for display of toys and miniatures.
