McCownGordon’s Vice President of Construction Operations to retire
Kansas City, MO (March 28, 2019) – Jay Lucas, Vice President of Construction Operations at McCownGordon for the past 10 years, will retire on March 28, 2019. He played a key role in McCownGordon’s growth and oversaw all the firm’s field operations.
Jay garnered more than 30 years’ experience in the construction industry as a superintendent, manager of self-perform and director of field operations for some of the largest commercial construction companies in the region. His successful supervision of more than 200 projects includes oversight of field operations, encompassing strategy, organization, staffing and allocation, site logistics, tools and equipment management, productivity management, risk management, and superintendent leadership and training.
Jay graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering Technology. His accolades include being named Superintendent of the Year by the American Subcontractors Association of Kansas and being featured in the Kansas City Business Journal’s 2016 “People on the Move” spotlight. Jay is also an active member of the Associated General Contractors and the Concrete Promotional Group, Midwest Concrete Industry Board.
